New South Wales conduct education programs, ongoing monitoring, and compliance action where appropriate, to ensure these industries operate in the public interest and with the highest level of integrity. We also work in partnership with industry and our stakeholders to develop policies and strategies to minimise the potential social harm associated with liquor and gaming activities.

One of their most significant achievements to date has been to help establish, support and develop more than 134 liquor accords throughout the state. Liquor accords are voluntary industry-based partnerships working in local communities to introduce practical solutions to liquor-related problems. They reach agreements on ways to improve the operation of licensed venues so that entertainment venues and precincts are safe and enjoyable.
